Tenuta La Pila

Verona | Italy

Tenuta la Pila is a charming estate nestled in the heart of the Veneto countryside, in Villa Bartolomea, near Verona. The property is set in a lovingly restored 18th-century rural court and is surrounded by orchards, lush gardens, and a serene swimming pool, offering a truly authentic and tranquil atmosphere. At the center of Tenuta la Pila lies the historical farmhouse, with exposed wooden beams and centuries-old magnolias, providing a magical backdrop.

Fabian and Mayra were immediately enchanted by Tenuta la Pila’s rustic elegance, the fragrance of fruit from the orchards, and the peaceful countryside that wraps the estate in a timeless embrace. The moment they strolled through the garden, beneath a canopy of twinkling lights and among blooming magnolias, they knew this was the place where they wanted to celebrate with their loved ones.

"The only difference is that instead of being in the middle of the sea we are immersed in the great valleys of Verona
between some of the most famous art cities in Northern Italy:
Verona, Padua, Vicenza, Ferrara and Mantua."

GETTING THERE

By Car

From Munich: The drive is about 4.5 hours (approx. 400km).

Take the A8/A93 towards Kufstein, cross into Austria, then continue on the A22 Brenner motorway through Italy. Follow signs for Verona, then continue towards Legnago and Villa Bartolomea. Don’t forget to grab a vignette for Austrian highways and have some cash/card ready for Italian tolls!

By Plane

For those flying in, we recommend arriving at Verona (VRN) or Venice Marco Polo (VCE) airports. These are the closest and most convenient options. Other possible airports include Bologna (BLQ), Milan Bergamo (BGY), Milan Linate (LIN), or Milan Malpensa (MXP) — all within a 1.5 to 3 hour drive.

From Verona Airport (VRN):
Tenuta la Pila is about a 1-hour drive from Verona Airport.

From Venice or Bologna:
Both airports are around 1.5 hours away by car.

From Milan:
Depending on which Milan airport you arrive at, the drive is between 2 and 3 hours.

For all airports, you can take a train to either Legnago or Verona, depending on your route. From there, you’ll need a taxi or private transfer to reach Tenuta la Pila or Hotel Villa Bartolomea—just note that taxis in the countryside can be limited

Overall, we’d recommend renting a car, especially if you plan to explore the region before or after the wedding.

By Train

By Train from Munich:
You can travel comfortably from Munich to Italy by train. Take a direct train from Munich to Verona Porta Nuova; the journey takes around 5 to 6 hours and offers beautiful views of the Alps along the way.

General Train connection from Verona:
Once you arrive in Verona, take a regional train to Legnago, the nearest town to Tenuta la Pila or Hotel Villa Bartolomea. From Legnago, it’s just a short taxi ride to the venue—just be aware that taxis can be scarce in the countryside, so it’s a good idea to arrange your pick-up in advance if possible.

By Bus

You can also reach Italy by long-distance bus. FlixBus and other companies offer direct routes from Munich (and others) to Verona, with the journey taking around 6 to 7 hours depending on traffic and stops.

Once in Verona, you can continue by regional train to Legnago or take a taxi or private transfer directly to Tenuta la Pila or Hotel Villa Bartolomea. Just keep in mind that taxis are less common in the countryside, so it’s best to book your ride from Legnago or Verona in advance if you’re not renting a car.

In general: We highly recommend renting a car from your preferred rental company if you’re not already arriving by car. All the hotels have parking for you to leave it there. Remember that we offer shuttles between the main hotel and the venue, so you don´t have to drink and drive.

If you’re not renting a car and need help arranging a pick-up or taxi, just let us know—we’re happy to assist!
